Every Sunday morning, I would get up early so that I can watch the program ‘Rangoli’ where they will play songs from the movie. [Yep, there was no concept of a personal music library. We didn’t own a audio system. We only had a TV.] I think Zihale E Miskeen used to regularly feature during that program and I hated it. As a kid, I wanted to listen to ‘Ding Dong, Baby Sing a Song’ and some other peppy numbers. Now that I am grown up, I do realize that I like this particular song a lot and I wondered if anyone has attempted to mix this song. To my surprise, I found a remix and boy, what a remix it is. </p> <p>DJ Jitesh (he won one of the War of DJs contest) mashed up this song with Pump It Up and it is perfection. When I heard it the first time, I literally jumped off my chair and listened to it non-stop for couple of days. Which song should I pick? It was a really hard choice.</p> <p>‘Mein Teri Hoon Janam’ is a very special song to me. I think it’s one of those songs where the musician actually did a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-DerAfibnM">phenomenal job</a> by adapting the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-7Vu7cqB20">original</a>. The use of flute and aalap was genius IMHO. It had beautiful lyrics and a video with Sonu Walia in a swimming suit which left a very strong impression of a teenage boy [Now you know why I keep beard, but yeah, I will NEVER EVER wear a speedo]. After watching that song, my first thought was where do I learn to talk those ‘meethi meethi baat’ so that I can find Sonu Walia in a swimsuit? Yeah, I was a horny bastard since I was a kid. </p> <p>This song has been remixed by DJ Sunil already and it’s <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ekvj6WFd9o">a good remix</a>. But this Tuesday, I stumbled upon another attempt at mixing this song by DJ V Key and let me tell you, he fucking killed it.
